Pride of Lions now Screening at City Fitness

The Pride of Lions (84trt) will be screening on Friday June 26 - 3:30pm: at City Fitness

PRIDE OF LIONS presents Sierra Leone in a new light - the story of what it means for a country and its people brutalized by an 11-year civil war to move beyond their scars.

Through personal stories of human suffering, loss, and recovery, the Sierra Leoneans reveal universal truths about the strength of the human spirit and the power of forgiveness to move us forward. The amputee, the boy soldier, the doctor, the high school principal-each has a unique perspective and a powerful story to tell. Witnessing their ability to overcome inconceivable human atrocities and reclaim their legacy is inspirational for most, but for the two Americans in our story it has been life changing.

Great Start to this years film festival

Hello to the national and international film community,

The 2nd annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival has already received some powerful films this year. We want to thank the film communities from the 12 countries that have already submitted their projects during our early registration period.

We were honored to bring last year’s program to you and showcase and share the great stories of the independent film community. There were screenings of 151 movies, 51 of which were world premiers. Filmmakers traveled from Bulgaria, England Japan, Holland, and Argentina to promote their work, with over 60 filmmakers in attendance.

The 2nd annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival provides an environment for its artists to engage and network in the broadening dialogue with a diverse and international community. We are committed to showcasing independently produced work by film makers who have created a unique cinematic experience that does not feel restrained by traditional boundaries.

We look forward to reviewing your independent film project.

Independent Film Directors and Producers coming to Philadelphia in June

Hello to the Independent Film Community,

If you have never been to Philadelphia or have never set up production here and you would like to Film here in the City of Liberty, 2009 could be the year. The summer is a great time to walk the historic streets of Old City and Northern Liberties, especially the end of June and beginning of July. You haven't celebrated the 4th of July, until you spend it in the cradle of liberty; amongst the founding fathers of the American Revolution. Or until you have listened to a reading of the Declaration of Independence in the front of Independence Hall, or until you have learned about the U.S. Constitution from actors in authentic 1700's colonial wardrobe and of course, experience the hundreds of event that happen over a two week span. Well, if that wasn't enough to excite you about a visit to Philadelphia, then how about premiering your next film at the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival- Thursday, June 25th - Sunday June 28th, 2009

The 2nd Annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival is now accepting film submissions at withoutabox.com or by contacting us via email@ info@piff2009.com

Looking forward to screening your project.
